the monster factory studios
clickity click for a finer peek.

so tonight i thought i would post a collage of the actual monster factory studios, which is where i work three to four days a week stitching up all the many factory monsters, with my partners bliss and adam. The studio is full of parts and pieces these days, tons of monsters in various states of production...with the show approaching swiftly, it is going to be a sewing storm over the next three weeks.

the collage turned out pretty funny, with monsters peeking through bolts of fabrics, budles of monster arms waiting to be stuffed, synthesizers waiting to be played, fan mail from friends, check marks and prototypes with out eyes smelling the hyacinths.
The juki is one of our industrial machines, i had to learn how to use that beast this year, and I LOVE IT! Once you get the hang of it, you never want to use anything other than an industrial...though I would never say that in front of my trusty rusty viking.

In other news, i attended the first Dork Bots meeting in Toronto last thursday, Douglas came up from New York to do a Talk, which was awesome...Douglas makes fantastic robotic work. i also got to meet the most amazing Valerie Lamontagne, whose work with conductive thread is outstanding, totally blew me away. finally, I was also introduced to The Artist Interface Device, which is an open source tool for artists who are interested in using robotics, I am still a little unclear on this whole process, so i have made it my goal to try and build an A.I.D board...should all be very exciting! And now for some extremely snowy sleep.
