so what you are looking at is what is left of my computer, except my little hardrive which is strung to kyle's computer, on life support at the moment.

Early Friday evening, a small warning poped up on my computer screen, saying "you have exceeded your registry size", me being the computer wiz that i am, decided to ignore the warning and just keep working. About ten minutes later, my computer crashed...which was strange, so i rebooted, and once again this little registry warning showed up...so yet again i ignored it (real wiz here) and this time after five minutes my computer crashed again. Soooo, i called kyle over, he said all we needed to do was increase my registry size, but he would have to do it the next day because we were just about to head out for some drinks with friends. That was fine with me.

The next day, Kyle sat down and got to work on my computer, within ten minutes, things were not looking as positive as the night before, it seemed that even though he could change the size of my computers registry, it would no longer let him even log into windows. Essentially, something was wrong with my windows platform, which had probably been caused by a virus, that my poor computer had contracted before Norton was installed. Regardless, Kyle ended up spending the entire day working on my PC, he estimates it went kaput, somewhere in the late afternoon.

Around seven that night though, while i was making dinner, I started hearing the sounds of a drill and breaking plastic. That is when I really started to panic! This would be because, I am an idiot, an idiot, who never bothers to back anything up. That's right folks, four years of writing and two years of photos, resume's, cv's, and a whole shmaker of address's and info I kept on my little PC, and no where else, all about to go up in smoke, because I am seriously stupid.

I ran upstairs to see what was happening, and found kyle gutting my computer. I started crying, and kyle looked at me and calmly said "your computer is broken...but I think your hard-drive is still fine". He then proceeded to hook up my ailing hard-drive to his computer, to check the status of the drive...and then his computer crashed!!!

For about two minutes (while kye rebooted), i thought all was lost...but then his computer dinged on and my little hard-drive kicked in...and all of my information appeared on his screen! Sweet relief is all I can say.

Kyle managed to save all of my writing, photo's and archived emails.
So not only is Kyle is my hero, he has also lent me his nifty lap top until I can save up to buy another computer...it is strange for me, because it is a mac and i am very used to a pc...but i am digging all the little apple icons.

I have learned a couple valuable lessons, the obvious one is ofcourse to back up all of my work properly, and the second is that i need to learn how to work and take care of my computer better. I need to take more responsibility over my digital life, so when things go wrong, i can atleast try and fix the problems first, before having to run and find someone to fix them for me.

Anyhoo, the weekend had some good points:

-good night out with friends
-delicious pasta dinner
-and a brand new doo! (see below)
